I tried running a 4 hour load test on the new generator in our new building. Tried.
Once the Genny was online and transfered over I went to kill City power and things went dark for a few seconds. Not what you want at a Hospital.
This is exactly what the design engineer said would not and could not happen. And it’s the second time the system has glitched since going live.
Joy!

Well that’s a little worrying. Hopefully it gets sorted.

Can’t be as bad as the water randomly shutting off during the lunch rush where I work. The plumber is coming in tomorrow to fix the issue.

That, as they say, is not good.

Next time get it in writing.

Gotta love that. There is a reason I have a battery bank bigger than a Buick for those changeovers.

We did! The Contractor is under a 1 year “warranty” with the new building.

It’s better than the night the main transformer popped. We lost one leg coming in. The system saw the two other legs and said all was ok no need for the generator. I pulled a double that night.

Does the water turning off at random have the potential to get people killed, or is it merely an inconvenience? If the water turning off is likely to get people killed then I’d say you’re about even with the power going off at a hospital.

It is a death sentence for a restaurant. No dishes can be washed, no fountain drinks can be poured, and the bathrooms are useless. At least the beer taps still worked.

Yeah, no water for a restaurant is a very bad thing. I still submit that no power for a hospital is a worse thing.

Both are equally bad in different ways.
